Director of Technology

Greenfield, MA

Stoneleigh-Burnham School, an independent girls’ boarding and day school for grades 7-12, seeks a Director of Technology for the 2026-2027 school year.  This is a full-time, twelve month position.  Preference will be given to candidates who are available to live on campus and serve as an administrator on duty one-night per week and every fourth or fifth weekend. 

Located in the Pioneer Valley, a short drive from the Five College Consortium (University of Massachusetts and Smith, Mount Holyoke, Hampshire, and Amherst Colleges), Stoneleigh-Burnham School is the only girls’ school in New England to offer the IB Diploma Programme and attracts students from the local area and around the world. Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Oversee every facet of the Technology Department

  • Establish and execute IT strategies and operational protocols that are aligned with the goals of the school.

  • Coordinate the department’s budget planning, track spending and manage partnerships with vendors and service providers.

  • Act as a strategic advisor to school leadership on cybersecurity developments, educational technology and emerging digital tools.

  • Ensure clear communication of technology plans, system adjustments, and support resources to employees, students and families.

Operations

  • Direct, assess and execute the implementation, functionality, and lifecycle of IT infrastructure and software.

  • Manage the institution’s data security protocols, risk mitigation strategies, and disaster recovery frameworks to ensure operational stability.

  • Oversee all enterprise platforms, including SIS, LMS, and other mission-critical systems supporting school operations.

  • Manage all significant technology initiatives, system migrations and institutional data transitions.

  • Manage all on-premises hardware and systems: server, network, printer, emergency notification and security infrastructures

  • Maintain secure and appropriate access to digital assets and technological resources for all members of the school community.

  • Other duties as assigned by the CFO and Head of School

Support

  • Deploy and support all employee and work space devices

  • Create, maintain and support the use of user accounts across all platforms

  • Troubleshoot all employee and student issues both software and hardware

  • Develop and maintain support resources

Qualifications:

Familiarity with Blackbaud, Google Workspace and Windows Server required. Experience with Ruckus, Fortinet, Zoom, Mosyle, Apple Manager, Informacast and Securly preferred.

Experience in a school environment, particularly a boarding school.

The range of salary is 60 - 65K with on-campus housing and meals when school is in session.
