Located in the Pioneer Valley, a short drive from the Five College Consortium (University of Massachusetts and Smith, Mount Holyoke, Hampshire, and Amherst Colleges), Stoneleigh-Burnham School is the only girls’ school in New England to offer the IB Diploma Programme and attracts students from the local area and around the world. Job Description: To assist the Equestrian Director in the daily upkeep of the horses, equipment and facility.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Overseeing horses’ healthcare
  • Feeding, watering of horses and mucking out
  • Maintaining clean, orderly barns
  • Keep all horse records in an organized manner
  • Assisting in hiring and training of barn staff
  • Organizing and monitoring barn staff work schedules
  • Ordering stable supplies, such as hay, feed and shavings
  • Maintaining equipment for stable and riding program
  • Assisting at SBS shows
  • Driving a tractor

Assistant Barn manager position requires: good horse handling experience, great work ethic, ability to work in all weather conditions, organized person, ability to interact with clients and students and be a team player! The assistant barn manager also has the responsibility to assist with lessons when needed.
